A skink is an agile lizard, and these happen to live in Virginia, according to the Virginia Herpetological Society.  Taste and see : the name retains a hint of the earlier version while offending nobody.  [Yeah, ok, Washington Blue Skinx, if you insist.]  But I imagine there are only agile green skinks in DC, as that’s where all the money and power is.  Lizards rule.
